Exodus Transitional Community Tribute to Rev. Muller at the First Annual Exodus New Life Agenda Celebration (June 27, 2025)<\/strong><\/p>

\nBrothers and Sisters!\n\n

Sending my love and blessings to you all on this historic evening as we honor our mentor, friend, and leader, Rev. Muller.\n\n\n

My apologies that I cannot be there in person, My daughter, Julia, is graduating from High School today and I can’t be prouder. Actually, I\u2019ll take the moment to say I’m one of the most fortunate men in the world to be able to celebrate two people I love on the same day!\n\n

As we all know, I can’t say Rev. Muller\u2019s name without thinking of another mentor in my life, the late Reverend Dr. Lonnie McLeod, Jr., and Jackie, his wife, who has taken on the mantel of justice and through her faith commitment continues to do this work. We salute you!\n\n

I won\u2019t bore you with the stories, but without Rev touching Lonnie, and without having Lonnie as my professor at Nap (back then it was still Happy Nap [Eastern NY Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY]) Exodus Transitional Community would look very different. For over 25 years, Exodus Transitional Community has been on the forefront of so many progressive initiatives that can be directly or indirectly attributed to Rev. Muller\u2019s impact on the lives of so many men!\n\n

To the Rev\u2019s family, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family. As Rev considered us family, you are also part of our family. The Exodus family, made up of a vast array of Brothers from different levels of society who made a commitment inside of prison walls to create a more equitable world through becoming life givers.\n\n

You are also part of Exodus Transitional Community, made up of caring, passionate and committed criminal legal reform activists that believe in second and third chances, and who believe out of the struggle of the now we create the human world of the future!\n\n

And Rev. Muller, we will continue to create a human world by deciding to live the life we have for the sake of humanity!\n\n— Julio Medina, Founder & CEO Emeritus, Exodus Transitional Community\n\n\n
